Minneapolis officer fires shot during pursuit of teen carjacker A Minneapolis police officer fired their weapon while in pursuit of a teen carjacker who stole a vehicle at gunpoint. Minneapolis Public Information Officer Garrett Parten shared details on the incident.  The Brief A Minneapolis police officer fired a shot while in pursuit of a teen who reportedly carjacked a vehicle at gunpoint.The stolen car "made contact" with a squad car, and the suspect later ran away before officers arrested him.The Minnesota BCA is investigating the use-of-force incident, and police say no one was seriously injured. MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Minneapolis police say an officer fired a shot when a teen crashed a stolen vehicle into their squad car after an armed carjacking. Teen arrested for armed carjacking Timeline: Minneapolis police say officers responded to a reported armed carjacking in the area of 31st Street West and Pillsbury Avenue at about 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.  According to officials, a 16-year-old boy allegedly tried to carjack a vehicle at gunpoint, but that driver fled. The boy reportedly carjacked a second vehicle at gunpoint and used it to flee.  Responding officers moved to intercept the stolen vehicle, and a marked squad car stopped mid-block on Pleasant Avenue. Police say the teen struck the squad car with the stolen vehicle, and an officer fired their weapon during that interaction. Authorities say the teen ran away, and officers later arrested him near Grand Avenue South and West 31st Street.  Minneapolis police on the scene investigating a suspected armed carjacking.  (FOX 9) Two MPD officers injured Dig deeper: Two officers sustained minor injuries during the arrest. Police said one officer had a small cut to the face, and the other sustained a minor ankle injury.  The 16-year-old boy was taken to Hennepin Healthcare for reported pain and mental health concerns.
